Trawling
Trawling is a method of fishing that uses a large tapered net that comes in different sizes.
It is dragged along the seabed by two metal doors that keep the net open in order to catch the fish and shellfish.

The net catches fish and shellfish as it is dragged along the bottom.
Did you know that...
Trawling is a daytime activity? Fishermen set out at dawn and return in the afternoon.
These nets catch fish and crustaceans that live on the seabed at a depth of 900 metres?
This type of fishing has to be done in obstacle-free places to optimally drag the net?
Regularly, there is a two-month closed season, in May and June, when the trawling fleet remains moored in the port to help the fish reproduce.
