Handles

The handles are rectangular or cylindrical, made from reed, plastic or metal. They have a funnel-shaped mouth to let fish in and not back out. The bait is attached to the other end to attract the fish. The shape and size of the handles depends on the species being fished.

Cadups

Cadup is a passive fishing gear, ideal for octopuses. This device consists of a plastic or clay pot tied to a rope, which is placed on the seabed. Octopus look for holes to make a lair and the cadup is the ideal recipient for letting octopus in and keeping them there. The fisherman just has to reel in the gear.
